The FNC (Friday Night Challenge) this week at Scrap 101 was a tough one.
The layout must contain the following elements:
Black cardstock
One other color of cardstock (your choice)
Patterned paper that is either polka dots or stripes
Ribbon
Brads
A homemade tag (big or small - doesn't matter)
Journaling
Title that is 3 words or more long (like "I {heart} you"or "Big girls do cry")
And one extra element that is up to you - stickers, flowers, chipboard, your choice
and of course photos! =)
This is my finished layout. I was really happy with how it turned out. I am giving it to my daughter to display in her bedroom. She is the one on the right.

In Memory of my Grandparents
I have never scrapped about my grandparents (all 4 of them) Each of them was unique in their own way.
My Grandpa McGuire is the one I remember least of all, because he died when I was young, but I remember him as always happy. My Grandma McGuire had a green thumb for houseplants, she could make anything grow. I did not take after her at all, I can kill a houseplant faster than you can buy it. LOL
Grandpa Shaw was a gardener, he always had a huge garden. I remember riding around the garden on his tractor, what a treat that was when he let us steer! Grandma Shaw was the food preserver, she always had something that she had made to send home with you. She always had us grandchildren helping her with the canning if we were around when it was time.
Sometimes it is sad to think that I have lost all my grandparents. But I do have the good memories about all of them. I think it is time I set down and put this on paper. I have a great picture of both sets of grandparents and my Mom and Dad from the 1950's.

Branson, MO and My CD's Layout
Chelsea's challenge today from CMK is to tell about a place you've visited that you've never scrapped about....hopefully this will encourage you to scrap about something new. Where was is? Why did you go there? What did you see? How did it make you feel? What do you want to remember about it?
I visited Branson, MO as a child, I have many great memories, but I have never scrapped about it. Probably because I don't have any photos. I think I will still scrapbook about it, I will just have to do more journaling about it.
We went there as part of a family vacation. I remember how much fun it was. We got to see them making soap, candles and my favorite CANDY! LOL
I also remember all the wonderful music. This was in the early 70's when Branson was not so famous. So the music was not famous muscians, but just normal everyday musicians doing something that they loved.
Speaking of Music... Here is a layout I finally finished today. I started it on Tuesday, went to finish it Wednesday and my printer died. So I bought a new printer (Epson R220) today and was able to finish it.

It is just at simple layout about What CD's are in my Car. I have a little bit of this and that. I have Hard Rock, Country, and 70's. Currently, George Strait is in my CD player.

Art in Bloom
For the last 6 years our town has held an Art in Bloom show on Mother's Day weekend. It is a lot of fun to look at the different art. They also have artists that create a new look for smudge pots. (These used to be used in the pear orchards for years to keep the fruit from freezing in the spring) Below are some of the pictures I took today.

More Changes
Well after thinking about and getting some feedback on the names I was considering, I chose "One Page At A Time". I also changed my profile pic. I am still working on the look, but it is getting closer to what I want. Thanks to everyone who gave me their opinion and helped me in changing the name.

New Name?
Yesterday I gave my blog a new look. Today I am trying to think of new name for it!
Everyone has such cool names for theirs and mine is so predictible "Bobbie's Blog" How much more boring could I get! LOL
So if you have any ideas for me, leave me a note, this could take me awhile.
So far I have come up with a few ideas:
- Simply Creating
- My Creative Journey
- Creatively Unique
- One Page At a Time
- Scrap Canvas
- Creating Treasures
Not sure I am crazy about any of them. I will have to think on this some more.

New Look
After seeing everyone's great headers, I just had to try it too. So I decided to create a quick header with one of my multiple flower pictures from my yard. I changed it to a watercolor look for a more artistic feel. I am liking the new look. Now to get my profile pic changed.
I see that Teacher Appreciation Day? Week?, not sure which one it is, is coming up soon. Now that Heather is in High School I really don't have much contact with her teachers. To be honest I have not met any of them this year. I have met, and really like her counseler. I do miss the days when I could volunteer in the classroom and got to meet and know her teacher and the kids in class.
My favorite teacher was Mrs. Shute, my high school French teacher. She always made class fun, I learned many things from her. She not only taught me some French, but also gave me many opportunities to grow and learn. I became the President of our French Club because of her. I was so shy in school that I would never have done this without her encourgement. I still send her a Christmas card every year and get one back.

2. Decorating Style: ? Not sure I have a style, I like uncluttered sorta country (Work on simple layouts with a country touch)
3. Hair Color: I have never colored my hair, I just let it do its own thing (Do a layout showing the different colors my hair has naturally been)
4. Piece of Clothing: Levi Blue Jeans (Use denim colors and textures on my layouts)
5. Item to collect or hoard: Christmas Ornaments (Do some layouts highlighting my favorite ornaments and the stories behind them, if there is one)
6. Favorite City to Visit: Anywhere on the Oregon Coast (Do a layout about all the different towns we have vistited on the coast)
7. Favorite job you've had: Bookkeeping for Norris Shoes, they gave me my first job after going back to college in my 30's for a business degree (Do a layout about this)
8. Favorite Animal: Lucy, our current dog who is 14 years old (Scrap a layout showing her over the years)
9. Favorite Food: Anything chocolate (Do a mini-album with my favorite chocolate recipes)
10. Favorite room in your house: Actually I would have to say my favorite room is outside of our house, I love our backyard (Do a layout about why I love our backyard)
WOW! What a list, now I have some scrapbook layouts already planned out. Thanks Chelsea at CMK for inspiring me once again.

Exhausted
National Scrapbook Day was a lot of fun! But, boy am I tired. It is really hard to try and balance family with scrapbooking. But I was able to get most of my goals done. See post below for the update.
Saturday my daughter went to her first prom at her boyfriend's school. Below is a picture of the 2 of them. They are going to go to her school's prom on Friday, so I will get to take more pictures. Can't believe how grown up my daughter looks.

- Have Fun! Done - I had a great time and I won a prize at Create My Keepsake and Creating Pages.
- Finish all the projects at Create My Keepsake. Done - And I made the Dean's List!
- Spend time with my family. They get cranky if I ignore them! Done - We had a good day.
- Work on my BOM. Do at least one page. Done - I did a page about my new haircut.
- Do my 2 layouts for this week's weight loss challenge. I think I will make a mini-album for this. So I guess I need to create that too. Nope - Hope to get this finished Monday.
I am excited about tommorrow, I haven't scrapped in over a week and I am feeling the urge to scrap, so that is a good thing. I should get something accomplished.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day! I sure plan on it.

New Haircut

Sunday I decided to get my hair cut. I wasn't planning on going this short, but after I had it done, I really like it.
I am currently particpating in a weight loss challenge on Scrap101. My goal is to lose 10 pounds over the months of May and June. I am doing this for a couple of reasons: 1st I really want to be in a smaller size for summer, I don't want to have to buy new shorts, and 2nd I need to get my cholesterol down. So hopefully this will inspire me to lose the weight and keep it off.
My biggest enemy is the candy box around the corner from my desk at work. But so far I have not been to visit it since last week.
Quirky fact about me: I love to eat lemons. I will peel and eat them like an orange.

This is the gift I made for my husband last year for Father's Day.
The Mustang is our car (at least until we sell it, hopefully soon). I have another license plate to alter, we have another Mustang, so I think I will put it on the other one. I am going to wait until we have it repainted though.
I'm not sure what I will make for him this year, but it is coming up fast, so I had better get to thinking about it.

Why do I scrapbook?
There are many reasons why I love to scrapbook.
I love the creative outlet it provides.
I love the idea of leaving a record of our lives for future generations.
I love all the paper and embellishments.
I love all the friendships I have made, here in my hometown and online.
I love photography, this is a perfect match, you can only have so many pictures on your walls.
I'm sure there are more reasons, but that is all I can think of right now!
A box that I recently made for an online friend.
