I have rejoined the local gym. It has been 2 years since I have been, but that was due to my problems with arthritis. My doctor gave me the go ahead to start working out, with restrictions. I am not allowed to do the stairstepper, eliptical or treadmill. I can only use the recumbent bike. And I am not supposed to do any weightlifting that uses my legs, since my knees are where I have the most trouble. I can swim all that I want though.
So last night was my first night. I went with a friend, we hope to be able to cheer each other on. I was able to ride the recumbent bike for 15 minutes, then we did weightlifting on machines for about 45 minutes. All we did was upper body, on the days she does legs, I will still just do my upper body. And afterwards we stretched for about 10 minutes. It felt good, but boy am I sore today.

Good for you, Bobbie! Sorry to hear about the arthritis but good for you for altering your workouts to accomodate that. Keep it up! =)
